For this project I took one of the clips from my Aaron Rodgers video and decided to apply a fire effect to the football while it was cutting through the air. I didn't know where to start so I decided to look at tutorials regarding motion tracking and found one on video copilot.net. The method he taught me was making two track points and in between the two points, track forward that area. I started to try and track it by pressing analyze forward but the ball broke it’s flat trajectory and started to go down. So I pressed analyze forward by frame and was able to move my track point to where the ball was on each singular frame and the point stuck to the ball until it arrived in the receiver's hand. Since I figured out how to track the football, I then started to try and find one on how to make a fire effect. I found one and made the fire. It was hard trying to figure out how to to apply the fire effect I made to my football, but I found a YouTube video that teaches you how to apply text to a tracked object. I followed the tutorial step by step making a null object and attaching it to the tracked area, and then parent my fire particle layer onto the null object. After adjusting the size of the fire and rotating it 90 degrees so it was on the same plane as the football, then dragging the fire on top of the football, I was finally able to apply my fire effect to the football.
