Self-Initiated Project - "Gallery of Greats" Print
BRIEF:
Produce a somewhat humorous illustration as a print that I could gift to my boyfriend for his birthday.
CONCEPT:
The illustration depicts a gallery of frames containing a selection of famous people/fictional characters that my boyfriend idolises alongside some intentionally silly/funny editions that were predominantly based on jokes we have together - such as "Morrissey's ego".
The idea was to communicate the message that my boyfriend could achieve the same greatness that those shown in the gallery have in a light-hearted way that I thought would appeal to his sense of humour.
SOLUTION:
Working in the same cutesy/fun style that I did for my A-Z university project, I created the illustrations using fine liner before bringing them into photoshop to colour.
I gave him both black and white/linear and coloured versions so that he could choose which he would prefer.
