The brief I gave myself for this project was to create a knight character based on a Scorpio zodiac sign (I'm thinking of doing some other signs in the future as well). I used the characteristics believed to be related to people born under this sign, like bravery, loyalty, confidence, high ambitions.

I wanted to avoid the cliched use of a scorpion tail or pincers but still wanted to incorporate them into the design in a different way.

Through research for the armour, I used a mix of medieval and ancient Roman armour - I liked how often they were showing sculpted muscles,  and wanted to do something similar, but using the Scorpion's anatomy for it instead.

For the weapons, I decided on a long straight sword and additional pincer-like protrusions at the back, which would allow the character to throw himself into a battle against multiple opponents or just make faster offensive moves against one.

The additional arms move using the glove on the character's left hand. The character chose to wear a one-shouldered cape for another layer of protection on the vulnerable hand and also to hide its movement from the opponent if needed.

While I started with more neutral colours, based on nature, the knight worked better in more bright and bold tones, better suited to its outgoing, confident character. Coincidentally, the red colour is one of the colours that are associated with the Scorpio sign.
