The series “Shadow and Bone” has been scheduled for the April release.
A teaser announcing the series “Shadow and Bone” has been unveiled on Netflix’s YouTube channel. The series will be produced and distributed by Netflix. The series is an onscreen adaptation of a Grishaverse fantasy novel penned by Leigh Bardugo.
The series will arrive on Netflix’s platform in the month of April next year.
The fantasy series is based on a world reeling with wars where a lowkey soldier and an orphan named Alina Starkov has discovered and launched an unfathomable power that can essentially drive her country towards freedom.
With the colossal danger of Shadow Fold arriving at the door, Alina is deprived of everything she knows to train herself to be a part of a powerful army of magical soldiers commonly called “Grisha.”
Now, as she endeavors to regain her might, she realizes the dark truth of this world. She notices that even her friends can be enemies, and even the worst enemies can be friends. She soon nods her head in front of a dismaying truth that nothing in her world can be taken at its face value.
There are mighty players in the game, including some brutal criminals, and Alina knows that she needs more than magical powers to survive the war.
The animated series will feature a virtuous cast that includes Jessie Mei Li in the leading role. Apart from her, Archie Renaux, Freddy Carter, Kit Young, Amita Suman, and the Westworld and The Punisher actor Ben Barnes are giving voice to specific characters. Eric Heisserer has overseen the development of the series as the solitary showrunner. He has also been the executive producer of the series alongside Lee Toland Krieger. Heisserer has also penned the script for the series, and Krieger has directed it.
Jessie Mei Li, who will lead the cast in the animated series, will also be seen in “Last Night in Soho,” which will be released in 2021.
Meanwhile, Archie Renaux will be seen in the film “Morbius,” which will also be released in 2021.
It is good for some established producers trusting so many newcomers. However, one of the cast members is Ben Barnes, who is a well-known face in some of the hit TV series made in America. He played the main villain of the stellar Netflix-Marvel collaboration “The Punisher,” and was also a pivotal figure in the Jonathan Nolan directed series “Westworld.”
