"KA-CA" Trap-Neuter-Release Infographic Design

The crisis of stray animal overpopulation is getting serious in Malaysia. Trap-Neuter Return (TNR) is the most humane and effective method known for
managing stray animals and reducing their numbers. Stray animals were trapped and brought to the veterinary clinic. They're then spayed or neutered. After they've recovered, the stray animals are  returned back to their original territory where a caretaker provides regular food and shelter. When foster or permanent homes are available, kittens and friendly adults are removed and placed for adoption.

This study is focused on the visual aspects in infographics and design an awareness campaign  by using visuals communication to provide a  better understanding about the TNR among young adults. The target audiences are the young adults aged between 18 - 35 years old in Malaysia.
The name of this project was “KA-CA”. Why call it “KA-CA”? It is because “KA-CA” is the sound of cutting off something, it represents neuter surgery to stray animals. Besides, it also represents the tipped ear which marks that certify the stray animals who are complete neuters. In my opinion, although the name "KA-CA" is strange, but it has extraordinary meaning. Inspiration behind the logo design is the main element of TNR program which is the dogs and cats. For the dog and cat on the logo, the highlights parts were the ears of both animals. In order to be able, distinguish that this is a TNR program logo, I left the ears of the above dog and cat with tipped sign which represent TNR during the design.
The infographic design mainly provides a summary of the most important information about TNR program. This is because an infographic design needs to be the direct and simple to read to the audience. In addition, the design of the infographic was a long infographic, it is planned into 4 stages, and the information provided by each part is also different which is The Problem of Stray Animals in Malaysia, The Process of TNR program, The Benefits of TNR, and also What You need if implement TNR by yourself.
For the icon design, I adopted a line-based design method. In addition, in order to make the icon look less sharp, the researchers also used rounder lines to make the design. Because if the icon design is too sharp, it will affect the overall design of the infographic.
