Learning from others cultures we gain knowledge over our own ignorance. This images belong to the "Lines of the Spirit, Spirit of the Lines" event presented by the CECEA (Cátedra de Estudios de Corea y el Este Asiático) of the University of Costa Rica. The attendees enjoyed a beautiful performance of Korean Traditional Meditative Dance by professor Lee Chul-Jin and songs of Pansori interpreted by Dr. Choe Hyondok with a drum performance by Jo Jae-Hyun.
Pansori (Korean: 판소리) is a genre of musical storytelling performed by a vocalist and a drummer. The term Pansori is derived from the Korean words pan, meaning “a place where many people gather”, and sori meaning “song”.
"Ovarios Trans" or Trans Ovaries, is a stand up routine performed by LGBTQI+ Rights Activist, Jess Márquez Gaspar, where he exposes part of the inconveniences found by trans men in Costa Rica while going through any medical appointment in the public health system.
