Logo Design Case Study | DMV Mothers Like Me

Logo Design | DMV Mothers Like Me
DMV Mothers Like Me: Maryland, USA. The mission of the organization is to connect mothers who reside in suburban areas of DC, Maryland, and Virginia, whose lives have been directly impacted by gun violence. And to provide a safe space for discussion, empowerment, and solutions; while also supporting one another through tragedy to triumph.

The Brief
The logo had to align with the organization's brand of connecting and supporting mothers whose lives have been directly impacted by gun violence and supporting one another.

Concept Development
I exploited the idea of a rose for the organization’s logo. I imagined this was a good symbolism to exemplify support and friendship among women. Especially those connected by tragedy, and subsequently, triumph! Designing the logo, I kept it simple. I used the shape of a teardrop to build the petals of the rose. As shown in the illustration below. The concept of a teardrop and a rose represents going from tragedy to triumph.

Colors
The client wanted a combination of the colors: Orange for gun violence awareness, Green for traumatic brain injury (TBI) awareness, and Yellow for support and friendship.

Font
For the font, I went with Cabrito, to match the smooth corners of the logo symbol.
