For this project, I was tasked to create a visual identity for the Chocolate Festival at Binghamton University from scratch. The primary ideas I wanted to focus on for these works was elegance and decadence. Discourse between whether or not the presentation should be done using images or vector art ended up leaning towards vector as a result of the crisp imagery that the photography available wasn't able to replicate.
Color was at the foundation for the visual success of the project; experimenting with different contrasting colors against the brown ended up leading to the crimson and beige seen on these final images. Iconography was important to identifying the different stations, where using purely vector art across the entire project benefitted the cohesive style of the icons. Raleway was chosen as a headline font as a result of the thin and bold options available; Century Schoolbook served as a contrasting serif font for paragraph and informational text.
