This is Palatinate's rock country. The mottled sandstone from about 250 Mio years ago forms some of the best fotospots in Palatinate's South. This area is just about north of the border to the Alsace in France. The Palatinate's forest and the Northern Vosges form a huge cross border natural preserve with a size of 310.500 hectare (appr 1200 squaremiles).
These shots were taken in late November on a cold Friday evening. The fog went down about 30m after sunset and I could realize the images with a moonlit landscape I had planned.
