Monotype Grotesque Type Specimen Booklet

This twelve-page booklet details the history and properties of the Monotype Grotesque typeface. Patterns, design elements, and a graphic monogram were created by using the typeface and its characters at varying font weights and styles. The color palette was based on CMYK printer ink cartridges and the late 1990’s combination of magenta and yellow. Keeping with the late 1990’s and early 2000’s theme, a lot of color blocking was used. This references the typeface itself, which is known for its hard edges and box-like qualities.
