ARGA Smart Packaging 

Arga is a sodium alginate-based material that offers an alternative to single-use plastic packaging in the food industry. It provides a sustainable and effective application that satisfies the client’s requirements in terms of what the need, what they expect from the material and problem-solving.

Arga was a semester long project that me and a multidisciplinary team developed. The team did a field immersion, interviewed experts and users and determined the viability of our project from the design, business and engineering perspective. 

Arga won the National Sustainability Price from the James Dyson Award in 2020. And it is currently competing in multiple international competitions.
