This cute hedgehog originates from a contradiction such that its smooth shape is defined by the conglomeration of sharp pickles. These contrasts, that exist in all of us and make a sense only when they come together, have become the source of inspiration for me while designing this cup.
ANKA
 
The name of this this cup comes from Zümrüd-ü Anka which burns itself and  reborns from its ashes.
My admiration to this bird based on a book which I read in my childhood. While designing this cup, I took a walk on that lines again.
OTTOMAN
 
Turban was a sign of social and occupational status in the Ottoman Empire. Despite the fact that they share the same ground after death turbans are a usual part of tombstones.
I was inspired by the turban while designing the curve of this cup. This turban is celebrating the unity, justice and homogeneity of the soil, which gave birth to itself, without any considerations regarding social status.
NOSHİ
 
I tried to reach the simple and  clear style of Japanese ceramic art. The Origamy Art was the inspiration point the cup’s name.
PERSCRIPTA
 
Perscripta means sketch in Latin literature.  Before firing process I drew this pattern on cup and saucer surface with a special pen.  Sketch tasting, randomly, just living and expressing the moment…
LINE
 
I have always liked to go on a journey.  To pass a road that I have never passed before and to see a place that I have never seen before makes me exciting.
I think the roads that I expected and searched for became visible on this cup.
LOTUS
 
I was inspired by the Lotus flower while designing this cup. The form of the saucer comes from Lotus.
CADUNT
 
I applied purple glaze on Cadunt’s saucer and after firing process I found various gaps and decompositions on saucer surface. Blue traces appared after my transparent glaze appliance to fill the gaps. This ramdomly result was like a fortune telling…
