For our second project of the semester me and my classmates were tasked with redesigning parts of TIME LIFE encyclopedias. The book I received was about Giant Molecules. I started off the project by locating infographics I was going to resign and articles I wanted to use. I ended up using 3 different articles about wigs, sports, and art. For my infographics I choose 3 forms of matter and the first chemist to create synthetic fibers.
At the beginning I didn't have a direction so I just threw myself in creating many different mockups and sketches. I wanted to have separate tiles but I ended up doing a long scroll bar. For my colors I started with a deep red and yellow but after getting feedback I ended up changing it because I use those colors a lot. I also only had one GIF at first but created two more because of the feedback I got from my class. After the critique I had a lot of fixes to make but I made then and I love the results. It looks very professional and organized and that's what I love the most about it. The biggest influence for my layout was constructivism and Bauhaus. Overall, this project was harder than I thought it would of been but it the end it was worth it.
