"Atelierul de Proiectare" is the first printed architectural magazine in the last 40 years in architecture schools from Romania, dedicated to students, teachers, architects and future architects, created exclusively by students, independent, distributed for free in architecture universities in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iaşi , Oradea and Timisoara, as well as through our partners.
Currently, architecture students lack in information regarding their college courses, exams, holidays, events , scholarships, international programs, national or international architecture and design competitions. The magazine comes to complete and improve the information provided in the faculties, providing a broader perspective on the faculty and each profile. Atelierul de Proiectare promotes Romanian cultural values, tradition in architecture, authenticity, talent, European and international openness of the future Romanian architects. Since its launching in November 2011, the magazine took part as a partner or organizer at most events in the field, the most notable of which being the Bucharest Architecture Biennale 2012, BIFE, Ambient Expo, ROCAD. The team has experience in organizing workshops on architecture, such as Atelierul de Creaţie, a workshop based on the reinterpretation of Romanian traditional grounds through parametric design tools. The latest achievement of ADeP is organizing an international architecture contest, " A House for Pink Floyd " in collaboration with ICARCH (International Competitions in Architecture). The competition was launched on the occasion of the Roger Waters concert in Romania and focused on creating an architectural object of any kind, that transcend rules and standards and is innovative by itself. In other words, " breaking the wall".
I joined the team in October 2012 and am currently an editor. The aim of the team and the magazine itself is to make students aware of the benefits / opportunities they can be offered and how to access them, given that the team members have participated in workshops, collaborated with architecture offices and specialized publications and have international experience. The project continues and can be followed on the internet at www.adep.ro, or during the various events that we organize periodically.
