optimization using parametric design tools
Bucharest, Romania | 2013
The main idea of our proposal was to create a parametric structure that can adapt to any environment and to any weather conditions. In order to increase the adaptability of the base module, the surface geometry has been configured in such a way that it can increase and decrease its height and receive the appropriate amount of solar radiation. The perforations can either provide natural light and solar energy for shady and cold environments, or create a barrier for light and heat in places with warmer climate. In terms of adaptability, the structure can be placed in both natural environments and urban public spaces and can hold a large range of activities and functions, according to its scale and development. The main advantage of its modularity is that, at any time, the structure can be extended with similar modules for better usage and functionality. Construction principles are simple and can vary in terms of dimension without altering the initial qualities of the adaptive skin.
