For one of the magazine spreads, I was asked to create a timeline that chronicled key moments throughout the history of The Newtowne Players as well as the theater itself. I tried multiple designs such as a circular infographic, a simplistic timeline; none of them stood out or developed to a point I was happy with. One of the guidelines they asked of me was to include many photos in the spread itself. They wanted images to tell more of the story than words.
The graphic for the timeline was created in Adobe Illustrator. It is a multi-layer design, with the timeline cut out of the top layer. A drop shadow added to the effect I wanted: Overview. The color coded years help to organize the information. While working with the request of including multiple photos, I wanted to maintain as much order for the audience as possible.
