Basilica di Sant'Andrea.

The Basilica of Sant'Andrea is the largest church in Mantua. Work of Leon Battista Alberti, A first pre-Romanesque religious building dedicated to Sant'Andrea was built in 1046, it was definitively restored from 1472, with various suspensions until 1530. It boasts one of the largest dome in Italy. In the crypt there are two reliquaries, a vial with the blood of Christ, and some earth soaked with it. The interior is in the form of a Latin cross, with a single barrel-vaulted nave with coffers, and with rectangular-based side chapels. Inside we find frescoes and pale paintings by important painters of the time, by Mantegna, Correggio, Paolo Pozzo, Fermo Ghisoni and Lorenzo Costa il Vecchio up to the pupils of Giulio Romano. In addition, the remains of San Longino and Mantegna.
