The Art and Practice of Typography
These spreads are examples of an excerpt I designed from a 1914 book entitled The art & practice
of typography: A manual of American printing, including a brief history up to the twentieth century,
with reproduction of the work of early masters of the craft and a practical discussion and extensive demonstration of the modern use of type-faces and methods of arrangement. When setting the type
for this typographic history excerpt, I took the meaning of the content into my concept, type-face
selections and overall design solution.
