Typographic Compositions

The compositions have been created by using only two letters: one from the Roman alphabet and the other from an Indian vernacular language for which I chose Malayalam. The typefaces have not been transformed freely. Black and white and unchanging typefaces make for the framework within which the compositions should grow, making them completely reliant on the use of design principles. The last composition in the series uses a quote and scatters and jumbles up the letters to show my feelings and interpretation about the quote. The idea was to create disorder through the jagged edges of the letters jutting out but still be able to see a structure.

"I have been so private, I behave so woodenly."
– Brian Aldiss, The Three Types Of Solitude
