WAYAK furniture series

Abstract: WAYAK is a web interaction experiment for customizable furniture. As mass customization becomes a trend in running shoes, cellphones and other widely available products, no exploration is being made into developing user centered customizable furniture. Taking the designer into the user’s computer the system enables users to customize several design pieces from a preset starting point and with elementary design controls.
Height, width, length and appearance features can be adjusted through the platform which later translates the user's specifications into CAD files to be CNC milled and shipped without any direct human interaction.
