NAMS 10th Year Anniversary Book

The National Addictions Management Service (NAMS) was set up at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) in 2008 with the support of the Ministry of Health (MOH) to provide treatment for people with addictions such as drugs, alcohol, gambling, and others. One of NAMS many missions and core values is to reduce stigma and barriers in seeking treatment. To treat patients and their families with respect, dignity, fairness and believing in treating the whole person in recovery and not just the disease of addiction.

The cover design shows a peek through a keyhole, symbolizing NAMS being the key to breaking the stigmas being associated with seeking mental health treatment. The pathway illustrated inside depicts the journey toward success, showcasing NAMS' Milestones and the history of addiction in Singapore; their efforts and engagement in outreach initiatives that resulted in the patients' successful recovery journey over the ten years. Doctors and nurses welcoming a new person exemplifies their aspirations and continuous efforts in research, in order to help more patients to reintegrate back into the community.
