2019/20 - Response Project - Choosing a material (in this case, paper), we were to explore the pattern/motif possibilities focusing on the materials characteristics. I chose to focus on papers translucency and using only paper manipulation, cutting, burning and layering (no additional products, dyes, paints etc), create a design and explore its practical applications. I created much of the above, simply using various types of paper and cutting the motif using a laser cutter from a single vectored stencil design I created in Adobe Illustrator with multiple stencils, designed to layer on top of one another to create a cohesive design.
