The Ideal
We were tasked with creating a sermon opener for Colossians, with the theme being to contrast the way the world says to live with the ideals set forth in Colossians. When they settled on "The Ideal" as the title, we decided to use a Mid Century Modern aesthetic, as that art period and movement were all about contemporary and modern living. It branded all of it's children as the ideal type of life for a 50s and 60s American.
We created graphics that would represent modern America and it's ideal life type of relaxation, work, entertainment, or future. All of this is to represent the cartoon-ish simplifications that we try to live out in our lives, and contrast it with what God really says about how to live.
