Slepak Enterprises on short-term rentals

Founded by Chase Warren Slepak in 2010 with the help of his father, Slepak Enterprises launched with a focus on creating affordable & comfortable housing options for the underserved. Since inception the company has evolved to include management of the pair's other interests across the real estate and CPG sectors.

After divesting their residential and mixed-use holdings prior to the COVID-19 pandemic Slepak Enterprises was loosely considering a move toward building a portfolio of short-term & vacation rental properties. The travel & vacation industry has taken a huge hit in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, but Chase Slepak of Slepak Enterprises is more bullish than ever on their plan to build a small portfolio of vacation rentals.

"I'm exceptionally bullish on short-term and vacation rentals right now for a handful of reasons. We believe that in lieu of long-distance vacations that require air travel more folks will be looking for getaways within driving distance. Rather than staying in a hotel with common spaces such as elevators & lobby our belief is that travelers will feel much more comfortable in a private home where they can control the flow of guests and take whatever sanitation steps above and beyond our processes that make them feel most comfortable. Cost is also going to be an important factor. I don't want to go down a rabbit hole or pretend to be some sort of economic expert, but my personal belief is that our economy has yet to feel the true impact just yet. I believe discretionary consumer spending on things such as vacations is bound to contract and stay that way for quite some time. We believe that many families are going to be swapping the week long trip to Disney or lavish resort for a more affordable getaway. Thats one of the reasons we have decided to narrow our focus on what are typically very affordable destinations such as Lake Erie, Virginia Beach & Ocean City. We also believe that trips will be shorter but more frequent as a way to help manage cabin fever." Chase Slepak, president of Slepak Enterprises.

Slepak Enterprises currently has their first vacation property under contract along the Lake Erie coast in Geneva, Ohio.
