Guerrilla and paramilitary groups in the municipality of Jardín de las Peñas, Mesetas-Meta threatened her for being trans, so she escaped to Bogotá, where she lived with her aunt and later on in the famous neighborhood Santa Fe, right in the heart of the city, where she became a sex worker out of necessity in the so called “Tolerance Zone.” This area in the city is considered one of the most dangerous and rejected by the locals, and is suggested to be avoided by foreigners as well.
