TATIANA'S RETURN
Tatiana Triana is a transgender woman who, due to the Colombian armed conflict that has been present for 60 years, was displaced not only once but three times from her hometown, the latest being 16 years ago.
Guerrilla and paramilitary groups in the municipality of Jardín de las Peñas, Mesetas-Meta threatened her for being trans, so she escaped to Bogotá, where she lived with her aunt and later on in the famous neighborhood Santa Fe, right in the heart of the city, where she became a sex worker out of necessity in the so called “Tolerance Zone.” This area in the city is considered one of the most dangerous and rejected by the locals, and is suggested to be avoided by foreigners as well.
This is the documentation of her return to Jardín de las Peñas after 12 years of being apart from her family.
