Covid Signage for the University of Wyoming Libraries

Covid-19 Signage for UWyo Libraries
As we (my boss the marketing manager, the assistant dean, and I) were ideating for this project, the assistant dean casually threw out the idea of integrating one of our university's mascots, a miniature Shetland pony named Cowboy Joe, into the project. I loved the idea and ran with it, hoping to create signage for the libraries during this trying time that was informative and welcoming rather than clinical.
This is the moodboard I developed for the project, and I decided on using Gotham not only because it is one of our university-approved fonts but also because I wanted to dress it up in a way that might have looked more gimmicky if it was a display face. I also thoroughly researched Cowboy Joe before the start of the project to not only collect pictures but to get a feel for his personality.
I carried the monoline illustration style from the moodboard into the main poster used in our sandwich boards to capture Joe's likeness. Luckily enough, mini Shetland ponies are about 3 feet in length so using Joe as a unit of measurement worked to illustrate our social distancing guidelines in the library.
Here's a selection of some more signage created for the libraries, including social distance circles for the floor and enter/exit/do not enter signs for the doors to maintain travel directions and limit the amount of cross-travel.
Thanks so much for viewing this project! Leave a like and feel free to check out my bio for more places to follow me and ways to reach out if you want to work together!
