Kashida | كَشـــــــيدة

This was an attempt to explore the huge graphical potential of the 'Kashida' in Arabic Typography.

Kashida | كَشيــــــــــــدَة
is a type of justification in Arabic Typography.
In contrast to latin white-space justification, which increases the length of a line of text by expanding spaces between words or individual letters, kashida creates justification by elongating characters at certain points.

The project has been re-posted on Stefan Sagmeister's Instagram account and got an overwhelming review by one of the most influential graphic designers of the decade.

Stefan writes: It certainly is wonderful to receive graphic work sent from Syria, and such an excellent one at that! To conceptually exploit the elongation possibilities of your written language is wonderful, I'd imagine there might be a whole series of pieces possible using this strategy.
