BOOK: THOUGHTS OF TREASURE DAILY DEVOTIONAL.
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.(2 Timothy 2:15).
It is our responsibility to study the word of God. If you don't study God's word, you will be easily deceived and you will be carried away by every wind of doctrine.(Ephessians 4:14).
Our opening scripture says to "Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that need not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.". It is not just enough to read the Bible because there is a difference between studying and reading. So, the scripture did not say read the word but study the word. It's wonderful to read the bible because anyone who reads the bible will be blessed by reading it but it's not enough. If you are going to have God's approval in your life you've got to study the word. When it comes to studying the word you set a time out for it, you get your notepad, your dictionary, bible concordance close by, in case you find a word that you might need to look up the meaning so as to understand the context very well. You study the context, and you look at the words, you think through it and you imagine yourself at the place of the scene of the account you are reading and as you do, you will begin to see with the eyes of the scriptures and you allow the Holy Spirit to minister back to you. Hallelujah.
As you study the word the Holy Spirit will begin to interpret the scriptures to you because it takes a revalation to know God and until the word of God is revealed to you, you will never know God or have real relationship with the Father, you will have a mere religion. The account of Samuel before God revealed Himself to him is a perfect example. The Bible says 1 Samuel 3:1 "The boy Samuel ministered before the LORD under Eli. In those days the word of the LORD was rare; there were not many visions. And in verse 7 of the same chapter, the Bible says "Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD: The word of the LORD had not yet been revealed to him."(1 Samuel 3:7). Even though the boy Samuel ministered before the Lord under Eli, he did not yet know the Lord because the word of God had not yet been revealed to him. It takes a revelation to know God and you can only know Him through His word. This is why the studying of God’s Word is so important. The scripture says, study to show yourself approved unto God. It's only through the studying of God's word that you can understand the ways and the acts of God. Some people know the ways of God but they do not know the acts of God and others vice versa.
You can not know God without His word because the word of God is God. And one of the best investments you can make in your life is to invest the word of God in your spirit. Colossians 3:16 says, "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." And Paul writing to the believers says "And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.(Acts 20:32). Hallelujah. The word of God can build you up and deliver to you an inheritance. If you are grounded with the word, nothing can shake you in life because you are founded on the solid rock and foundation. Jesus said in Matthew 7:24 "Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock." Hallelujah, be smart to invest the word in your spirit, be smart to study the word of God voraciously. Give yourself to the word,
be absorbed in them. The Bible says to habitually practice these duties, and be absorbed in them; so that your growing proficiency in them may be evident to all.(1 Timothy 4:15).

1. STUDY TO SHOW YOURSELF APPROVED.( 2 Timothy 2:15).
2. IF YOU DON’T STUDY GOD'S WORD YOU WILL BE EASILY DECEIVED. (Ephessians 4:14).
3. IT'S WONDERFUL TO READ THE SCRIPTURES BUT IT'S NOT ENOUGH, IF YOUR DESIRE TO KNOW GOD DEPEER, YOU MUST STUDY THE SCRIPTURES. (2 Timothy 2:15, James 1:25).
4. IT TAKES REVELATION TO KNOW GOD AND UNTIL HIS WORD IS REVEALED TO YOU,YOU CAN NEVER KNOW GOD.(1 Samuel 3:1, 1 Samuel 3:7).
5. AS YOU STUDY THE WORD THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL BRING THE REVELATIONS OF GOD TO YOU AND REVEAL CHRIST. SO INVEST THE WORD IN YOU.(Colossians 3:16).
6. LET THE WORD OF GOD DWELL IN YOU. HIS WORD IS ABLE TO BUILD YOU UP AND DELIVER TO YOU AN INHERITANCE.
7. IF YOU ARE GROUNDED WITH THE WORD NOTHING CAN SHAKE YOU IN THIS LIFE. BE ABSORBED WITH THE WORD AND HABITUALLY PRACTICE STUDYING THE WORD.(Matthew 7:24, 1 Timothy 4:15).
AFFIRMATION.
THE WORD OF GOD IS MY FOOD. I LIVE BY THE WORD OF GOD AND I STUDY THE WORD VORACIOUSLY EVERY DAY AND THEREFORE, I AM LIKE A TREE PLANTED BY THE STREAMS OF WATER, MY LEAVES ARE GREEN AND WHATSOEVER I DO PROSPERS IN JESUS NAME. AMEN.
