Oxford Community Center - Places Workshop Project

The Community Art Center of Oxford is a multi-faceted organization that hosts various events and galleries year round. The art galleries consist of different media created by artists that live in and around Oxford, Ohio.
The building was originally constructed in 1850 as the Oxford Female Institute, a college for women, in the early 1900's it was closed and renovated into a women's dormitory as part of Miami University. This building's history stretches over 150 years.
I chose to make a paper-craft icon as representation for the Art Center whilst looking at it from the point of a visitor looking at the art center for the first time, I tried to package a gift for those who visit as a way to give back to the community, an aspect very present.
The brochure acts a way to guide the visitor's experience as well as educate them about the history of the building that they're in. Upon first visit I was hesitant to explore the different areas because the building seems very private. I want the building to further exude an inviting atmosphere.
