Before Traveling

"The next day early in the morning, she would take the bus to travel to her country. It was the last evening they would spend together, the last night they would sleep together. It seemed an endless night .Before sleeping, she asked him to wear the same shirt that long ago he had forgotten at her home in her hometown. It was one of those shirts that young people wear over a simple shirt today, doggy somewhat trendy, blue, slightly faded by time, with some white line texture and with a small pocket at the left side. She wanted his scent badly. Conversations and endearments were so much worth that night that can’t be counted. They were permanent , but only few stored thoroughly in each other memory. It should have been a prolonged night and less drowsiness, but it passed swiftly. In the end, before approaching the midnight heavy hour, she fell asleep. She seemed quiet and he was temporarily troubled and sleepy, until six o'clock when some rays coming from the east towards the window that was without curtains rendered his eyes half-open. It would be the last night that ended with an embrace and wake just like it had started with the same hug. She seemed quiet again while hiding the tears that dripped from his closed eyes. In the last five minutes they were lying down. Kneading was the last thing he tried to drive through his hot tears that were invited over the skin in that cold room. She had to do make up to be as cool as the road would lengthen until exhaustion. It was the last time that he was carrying her suitcase underneath her endless clothes. It was the last time they were together until the bus station from where she would leave. It was the last time they were together until her departure. It was the last kiss, and then they greeted by shaking hands up left and right; he out of the bus and she inside the bus sitting at chair number five. It was the last time they saw each other beyond glass. It would be the last time, at least for a very long time."
