This project is from a drawing class I took in April 2022. As can be seen, there was a great emphasis on digital sketching.

For this assignment I had to redesign an already existing NERF dart gun into a gun that shoots water. The chosen NERF gun which serves as main reference is the 'Elite Disruptor'. Below is a 3D model of the original design

The first thing I did was make a side sketch. I used this sketch to play around with proportions and the silhouet. 

I chose a sketch that I thought had the most potential. I roughly knew what the silhouette would look like by now. I made some variations using shadows and highlights.

With these variations I regularly reminded myself of the fact that the sketches were based on the NERF disruptor. I made an overview in which I substantiated the choices made. Then I decided to pick sketch 4 as the final design.

Based on the side sketch I made a sketch with perspective. To suggest that the gun contains water in the drawing, I made the reservoir transparent. This involved applying the refraction of light in the drawing.
